I never was a big fan of any of the Sonic games. I can blame that to my Nintendo upbringing in the 80s and 90s when the rivalry between Nintendo and Sega has reached its highest point. But personal bias aside, "Green Hill Zone" is a standard choice for many VGM cover artists and it's about time I made my own rendition. Highly requested by the Stringees among other Sonic songs, this will definitely not be my last cover from the franchise. I have been listening to the OSTs of the early games and it's beginning to grow on me.
For this arrangement, I went for a cinematic orchestral approach. Still retaining the kinetic energy of the original, but presented with a big, epic feel. It won't be out of place in an adventure movie soundtrack.
